Getting to the lighthouse is a decent to moderate hike along 2 miles of paved trail that can be quite steep at times. But the hike is worth it for the view. While you can't actually get to the lighthouse, the trail leads above the building, sitting high on a volcanic point and is a perfect spot for beautiful panoramic views of the island and ocean. On the way up, be sure to check out some of the unusual plants and cacti.
It is important to note that no outhouse or restrooms exist along the trail. We suggest starting in the morning, always bring water and wear sunscreen. There is a parking lot, but be sure to lock your doors and take any belongings as it is known as a high theft area.
