Private Lava Hike
Our 'lava hike option' is an option that gets you safely and legally within a hands reach of the flowing lava! This hike requires each guest in the party to be in very good to excellent physical condition, and at least 12 years of age due to the long difficult nature of the hike. Currently the hike is just around 9-mi (15-km) round trip and takes around 6-hrs to complete (2.5-hrs each way, 1-hr viewing time). Due to the constant changing eruption conditions we cannot guarantee that the flows will be accessible when you arrive here on the Big Island. We can make your tour a 'lava hike priority' in which case if the flows are safely and legally accessible we can make that option a priority for your private tour. Again the total will depend on how many guests you have in your party. If the lava is not accessible we will explore Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park in depth for your private tour.
